Horse Trials Info
For both the June and August Horse Trials, there will be an Intro Division
  • The Intro Division will be run ENTIRELY on Saturday. The order will be dressage, cross country, then stadium.
  • The dressage test for the Intro Division will be the 2006 USEA Beginner Novice, Test A. You can download a copy HERE.
  • The 10-12 X-C jumps will include logs and miniature versions of traditional cross-country fences not to exceed 2'2" with no water or ditches.
  • The Intro Division will be run under USEA/USEF rules which define allowed bits, spur lengths, tack, etc. Check out the USEA Rule Book.
  • The total Entry fee is $100. There are no starter fees.

To enter the Intro division, fill out the GVRDC Intro Entry Form.

Volunteer Opportunities:
For the Fall Horse Trials:

  1. Help is almost always needed during the days of the Show so give Wezo a call and see if there's a job for you.
  2. Monday (August 30) is the Tear Down Day for the Spring Horse Trials. Meet in jumping field at Hideaway Farm from 5:00 till done.

TAKE NOTE of new rules regarding falls on XC and stadium:
The first fall of competitor, at obstacles, on the Cross-Country course will result in ELIMINATION.

Videos of Stadium at Spring Horse Trials: Peter Dresser took videos of the stadium round and has posted them on his website. Go to raceruns.com and click on "event" and then Geneseo Stadium Jumping and the rest is self explanatory. It's a simple Paypal transaction and the clips are only $3.85 each because it's all internet distribution.

Our media players play things back in slow motion if you want to do motion analysis and the clips can be emailed anywhere - to coaches, family, friends, etc. You can also download them to your own computer.
